The Titans completed day 1 of pool play at the USSSA State Championships with a 3-0 record against some excellent competition.

In the morning game, The Titans started off slowly, but finished strong against the Stods Wildcats, winning 21-1. This game featured a very strong pitching performance by Turner Glenn who received plenty of offensive help.

In the afternoon matchup against the Mill Creek A's, the Titans came out roaring, jumping out to an early 6-0 lead thanks to back to back home runs by Zach Cokos and Aleks Hansen. Hansen also pitched a dominating game as the Titans wore down a very tired A's team in the hot sun by a 15-2 count.

The nightcap featured the Titans and an old rival, the Raptors from Puyallup. The Raptors eliminated last years 8u Maltby All Stars from the Battleground tournament, so the Titans had a bit of extra incentive in this one. They manufactured runs all evening, and got some gutsy pitching from Jack Flynn who got the job done even without his best stuff. Jake Delahanty notched a clutch 2 run single that ended up being the difference as the Titans held on to beat their rivals 8-7.

Pool play ends on Sunday morning with a game against the Mudcats, and then the playoff round starting immediately thereafter.
