When someone asks you what makes for a great ballgame, what comes to mind? Great pitching? Great Defense? Players giving you everything they've got on every pitch? Clutch hitting? Very rarely do you get all of that in a single game. Even rarer when you're talking about a group of 28 9 year olds .... but that's exactly what fans were treated to this Memorial Day.

The Titans battled the Klouters for the 3 Kings of Everett Championship for 8 scoreless innings. Titans pitchers Jack Flynn, Aleks Hansen, and Michael Attalah combined for 16 strikeouts. Behind the dish, Zach Cokos took away the Klouters vaunted small ball game, and out in the field, nearly every ball hit was turned into an out.

Both teams battled hard for 8 innings, with neither team able to break through. The pitching was outstanding, and the defense by both teams was absolutely remarkable. Inning after scoreless inning, the players laid it all out as parents in both bleachers held their breath. Finally, in the bottom of the 8th, Brock Bradley broke through with a rocket-shot double. Logan Miller followed up, and quickly the Titans had runners at 2nd and 3rd. With the bases loaded, and 2 outs, Nolan Suedel came to the plate and hit an absolute laser beam to the Klouters #1 fielder. Suedel beat out the throw as Brock Bradley scored the winning run ... and mayhem ensued.

Klouters Coach Phil Rognier said after the game that this was one of the most intense and well played ball games he's ever been a part of since he played in the World Series.
